Enabling Maps
The new map and routing features in DayBack are currently in preview.
If you'd like these features enabled for preview in your DayBack, please get in touch. (Maps, routing, and drive times require DayBack's Plus plan.)
Navigate to DayBack's admin settings and then click on the Views section. Scroll down and you'll see a few settings for maps and routing.
Enable Map: When set to yes, this will display the map in the "side view tab" (DayBack's right-hand sidebar), where you may have already enabled "unscheduled items." You do not have to enable the map if you only need to calculate distances but don't need to see them on the map. You will, however, need to enter an API key, below.
Map API Key: This is where you'll enter your Google Maps API key, which is required to use any map, route, distance, or drive time features in DayBack. Learn more about your API key, how to create one, and what charges you may see here: Creating a Maps API Key.
Default Side View Tab: If you have enabled both maps and unscheduled items, this setting lets you decide which tab is active for new users by default. (Once a user is working in DayBack, the calendar will remember which tab they last had active and restore that for them when they return. This "memory" is specific to each user/device.)
Default Sidebar View Open: Determines if the right-hand sidebar is open or closed for new users. (Once a user is working in DayBack, the calendar will remember the sidebar's open state and restore that for users when they return. This "memory" is specific to each user/device.) Unlike DayBack's left-hand sidebar, the right-hand one can not be locked open. It can be disabled (locked shut) if both "Enable Unscheduled" and "Enable Map" are set to "No."
