Updating Bookmarks

If you're unfamiliar with bookmarks check out our article on Bookmarks & Sharing. Updating bookmarks works differently for Private Bookmarks and Public Bookmarks.

Updating Private Bookmarks

Private Bookmarks, marked as "For Me" or "My Group," save the view, date range, and filter criteria, allowing you to quickly switch between different calendar views. When you update a Private Bookmark, DayBack replaces the bookmark's destination with your current view, updating the view, date range, and filter criteria to reflect what you currently see.

This allows you to refine the bookmark without creating a new one. Here's how it works in practice:

  1. Navigate to your desired view, date range, and apply the necessary filter criteria.
  2. Update the existing Private Bookmark to save these changes.

Updating Public (Shared) Bookmarks

Public Bookmarks export the text of your events to DayBack, creating a read-only URL that matches your current view.

  • When you update a Public Bookmark, you are updating the shared events.
  • You are not updating the Bookmark's filter criteria or view. Filter criteria include statuses, resources, resource sort order, etc.
  • There is no way to update the filter criteria or view for a Public Bookmark. To change these, you need to create and distribute a new Bookmark.

For more information, refer to the guide on Updating Shared Bookmarks.

For frequently changing Public Bookmarks, consider using DayBack's Salesforce Connect for more flexibility.
